Technology Day of the TIS innovation park in Bozen (South Tyrol)

The Bionic Engineering Network (BEN) participates this year the Technology Day of the TIS innovation park in Bozen that is held on the 24th of July.

Some of the questions covered:

• What is biomimetics? What could we learn from nature?
• What ist he advantage of biomimetics for businesses (especially small and medium sized businesses)?

This are areas of strength the South Tyrol region has so far:

• alpine Technology (winter sports products, ski lifts, mounteneering, alpine building)
• natural health and well-being (tourism, food, agricultural industries)
• digital Communications (infrastructure, communication and economic networks predetermined by nature)

These are the proposed presentations:

• Main presentation: TIS innovation park
• Presentation of Prof. Dr. Thomas Speck, University of Freiburg: Biomimetics – Learning from nature
• Business Festo italia: bionic learning network
• Guided tour through the exhibition and consulting talk with Knut Braun, BEN: dealing with these subjects among others

• Application of biomimetics for product development
• Biomimetics for South Tyrol (local projects using the example of an exsting regional network)

• Business Salewa: Biomimetic in the business Salewa

The event is accompanied by a biomimetic exhibition. There are possibilities to get in negotiations with the organizers and to give short presentations. The exhibition highlights the potential of biomimetics using examples of different areas of it. This is done on 200 m² in the most concrete and interactive way possible.
