The Bionic Engineering Network (BEN) hosts it first Symbiosium Thursday the 10th and Friday the 11th of September 2009 at the University Technology Centre (HTZ) of the University of Applied Sciences of the Saarland at the IT Park Burbach.

The number of guests is limited to 150.

Short description:

Businessmen and people responsible for technology get the chance to learn more about the advantages of biomimetics in their own practical product and process development.

Technology Day of the TIS innovation park in Bozen (South Tyrol)

The Bionic Engineering Network (BEN) participates this year the Technology Day of the TIS innovation park in Bozen that is held on the 24th of July.

Some of the questions covered:

What is biomimetics? What could we learn from nature?
What ist he advantage of biomimetics for businesses (especially small and medium sized businesses)?

This are areas of strength the South Tyrol region has so far:

alpine Technology (winter sports products, ski lifts, mounteneering, alpine building)
natural health and well-being (tourism, food, agricultural industries)
digital Communications (infrastructure, communication and economic networks predetermined by nature)

The event is accompanied by a biomimetic exhibition. There are possibilities to get in negotiations with the organizers and to give short presentations. The exhibition highlights the potential of biomimetics using examples of different areas of it. This is done on 200 m² in the most concrete and interactive way possible.

„Empower Deutschland - Geniales Saarland“

The 3rd Empower congress takes place at the 5th of March 2009 in the Convention Centre Saarbrucken. The slogan will be “Wachstum durch Innovation(growth by innovation)” this year.

BEN adopts an animal at Neunkirchen Zoo

The Innovation Cluster for Biomimetics “bionic engineering network – BEN” has adopted a little hulman monkey for one year. The official start was on 2nd April: Zoo Director, Dr. Norbert Fritsch, presented Cluster Director, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Weber, with the adoption certificate in the new Monkey House of the Zoological Gardens.

Motto der Veranstaltung:
“Mit Bionik zu Business Excellence: Wie Sie vom erfolgreichsten Unternehmen aller Zeiten - der Natur - profitieren!”

Hochkarätige Experten stellen den Besuchern der Veranstaltung innovative Denkansätze und von der Bionik inspirierte Management-Lösungen vor.
